VERTIGO. AKA - "Le Vertigo." English, Scottish; Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was first published in Longman, Lukey, & Broderip's Bride's Favourite Collection of 200 Select Country Dances, Cotillons (London, 1776, part 3, p. 6), Niel Stewart's A Select Collection of Scots English Irish and Foreign Airs Jiggs & Marches (Edinburgh, 1778, p. 93), and Edinburgh fiddler-composer and bandleader Alexander "King" McGlashan's Collection of Scots Measures (c. 1778 or 1781, dates vary, p. 1).
