TEAGUE'S RAMBLES.AKA and see "Carolan's Rambles to Teague." Irish, Air (9/8 time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. A lively Irish air composed by the harper Tadhg MacDonal MacRory of Townagh, County Clare, in the first half of the 16th century. Simplified versions of the air were printed by Playford in 1651 as "Irish Lady (1) (The)" or "Aniseed Water Robin." Versions of melody can also be found in Dublin music publisher Maurice Hime’s New Selection...Irish Airs (c. 1800), and, misattributed to the later Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan, in The Dublin Magazine, February, 1842 (as "O'Carolan's Rambles to Teague").
