Another composition from Kilconnell, east County Galway, fiddler Paddy Fahey. Breathnach/Small (1999) state: “The music Paddy Fahey composes is strongly touched with a unique style and atmosphere, a gentle, cheerful and sad style.” Fiddler Sean Ryan recorded the tune on a 1972 album with the title "Sliabh Bloom," and the tune has sometimes erroneously been attributed to him. "The Gig Rig" title comes from a 1990's recording by The Bridge Céilí Band.
