PADDY FAHY’S JIG [3] (Port Phaidí Uí Fhathaigh). AKA and see "Gig Rig (The)," "Sliabh Bloom." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. Another composition from Kilconnell, east County Galway, fiddler Paddy Fahey. Breathnach/Small (1999) state: “The music Paddy Fahey composes is strongly touched with a unique style and atmosphere, a gentle, cheerful and sad style.” Fiddler Sean Ryan recorded the tune on a 1972 album with the title "Sliabh Bloom," and the tune has sometimes erroneously been attributed to him. "The Gig Rig" title comes from a 1990's recording by The Bridge Céilí Band.
