MARCH OF THE RENFREWSHIRE MILITIA. Scottish, March (2/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A similarly titled, but different, march is "Renfrewshire Militia (The)." The Renfrewshire Militia was a unit raised during the wars with France in the late 18th century, to serve locally and to help free regular army units to serve overseas. It went through several iterations through the 19th century and eventually combined with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
