GEORGE'S MAGGOT [1]. English, Country Dance Tune and Jig (6/4 time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was first printed in Henry Playford's The Dancing Master, 11th edition [1] (1701). It was retained in the long-running series of editions through the 18th and last, printed in London by John Young. The tune and dance were also printed by Walsh & Hare in their The Compleat Country Dancing Master (1718).
