FAGAN. AKA - "Fagin's Holiday." Irish, Air (6/8 time). G Major: F Major (Goodman). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part (Clinton): AABB (Kerr). The tune was included in a section of Kerr's volume entitled Irish Jigs for Quadrilles and Country Dances. William Bradbury Ryan printed the tune as "Fagin's Holiday" in his Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), but titles just the word "Fagan" predate this (i.e. Clinton, Levey & Haverty). The tune also appears in the music mid-19th century manuscript collection of County Cork Anglican cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman [1] (p. 137).
