BOYS OF MALIN [1], THE (Buachaillí Mhálanna). Irish, Reel (cut time). Ireland, County Donegal. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC (Breathnach, Cranitch): ABCC (Miller): AA'BCC (Prior): ABCD (Songer). A popular reel in County Donegal. Malin, Donegal, is one of the most northerly villages on the island, and Malin Head is Ireland's most northerly point. The tip of the Head is known as Banba's Crown, the location of a signal tower dating from the early 1800's. Breathnach states it should be played ABCB, after John Doherty, although it is often heard ABC.
