NEW COMET, THE. English, Country Dance or Reel (whole time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABA. The tune was entered into Ann Winnington's music manuscript book, c. 1810. Winnington was an American and the inscription inside the front cover of her book indicates she lived in New York, although the book ended up in London.
