"Arthur's Seat [4]" appears in biography:David Young's Bodleian Manuscript, inscribed "A Collection of the Newest Country Dances Performed in Scotland written at Edinburgh by D.A. Young, W.M. 1740", in the collection of the Bodleian Library, Oxford. Edinburgh fiddler and writing master Young also included it in his MacFarlane Manuscript (c. 1741, No. 89, p. 138) with one variation. It was later published by cellist-composer wikipedia:James_Oswald_(composer) in his Caledonian Pocket Companion Book 9 (London, 1760).
