N: Malchair (1739-1810) was born in Germany and trained as a chorister at N:Cologne Cathedral; by his teens he was teaching violin and playing N:in the Three Choirs festival. His manuscripts were compiled over a thirty year N:period during which time he was the leader of the "Oxford Music Room Band".
