INVEREY'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Kirkmichael, Perthshire, fiddler-composer biography:Robert Petrie, who also composed other tunes in honor of Clan Faruqharson (e.g. "Miss Farquharson of Invercauld's Strathspey"). The clan became known in the 17th century as the fighting Farquharsons due to their fierce reputation and, in Jacobean times, were strong supporters of the Stuarts.
