CUPID'S FROLIC [2]. English, "Old" (Triple) Hornpipe (3/2 time). E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was first published by Charles and Samuel Thompson in their Compleat Collection, vol. 3 (London, 1773). As with numerous tunes from the Thompson's 1773 collection, it was copied into the 1788 music manuscript collection of fiddler John and William Pitt Turner (Norwich, Conn.).
