COULTER'S RAG. Old-Time, Country Rag. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Source Dickey composed and collected tunes from other fiddlers, but also learned from various music collections and publications. This melody may have been learned from a collection.

Source for notated version: fiddler Lotus Dickey (Indiana) [Phillips]. Dickey (1922-1989) grew up on Grease Gravy Road, near Paoli, Orange County, Indiana, and was taught to fiddle by his older brother Cyprian. He played for house parties and dances when he was younger, and devoted himself to raising a family and working at various laboring jobs, although maintaining his music. In the late 1970's, after his retirement, he was "rediscovered" by revivalists and folklorists and found fame at folk festivals and similar venues.
