BROWNIE SPECIAL. Old-Time, Breakdown. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Milton Brown and His Musical Brownies were a seminal Western Swing band who first recorded in the early 1930's and continued until Brown's untimely death in 1936 from complications stemming from an auto collision. Brown was the lead vocalist for the group (fiddle was played by Cecil Brower) and has been credited (by critic Robert Palmer, for one) as being the real 'Father of Western Swing'.
