BROKEN LANTERN, THE (An Lóchrann Briste). American, New England; Jig. C Major (most versions): D Major (Breathnach). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The jig is popular in Ireland, Cape Breton, and among U.S. contra musicians.

Source for notated version: a recording of New York fiddler Larry Redican along with Bronx flute player Jack Coen (originally from County Galway) [Breathnach].
