Source for notated version: The tune's source origins are somewhat vague; Susan Songer (Portland Collection) got it from Alan Garren, and was told he may have had it from fiddler Michael Meyer, who may have learned it from Bob Childs, who remembers acquiring the tune in the state of Maine.
