Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Walker in honor of Sir George Samuel Abercromby, 6th Baronet of Birkenbog and Forglen (1824–1872). He succeeded to the title in 1855 and resided at Forglen House, Banffshire, Scotland, with his wife, the Hon. Agnes Georgiana Browne, daughter of John Cavendish Browne, 3rd Baron Kilmaine and Elizabeth Lyon, whom he married in 1849.
